Northern Cardinal

Size: Approximately between 19 and 24 cm.

Longevity: It can live up to 15 years.

Habitat: The northern cardinal lives in the edges of the woods, in the cities, in the suburbs, in the gardens and in the parks.

Food: The northern cardinal eats seeds of all kinds, fruits (grapes, berries, etc.), buds, snails and insects.

Did you know that the male northern cardinal is very territorial and fiercely defends his territory against other males of his species? It sometimes happens that he fights for hours against his own reflection in a window.
