Located in Wakefield, the Eco-Odyssée Nature Park offers a unique ecotourist attraction in the world, a water labyrinth of 6 km of water canals. Eco-Odyssee also offers other activities in a walking labyrinth, as well as glamping-type accommodation, hiking trails and the brand new ice-skating activity.

Responsibilities

The role of Park Ranger is to perform various manual tasks related to the general maintenance of the park's grounds and accommodations. From May to October, the position is full-time, and the main tasks include maintaining the water maze, buildings, and accommodations using various tools and machinery. From November to April, the position is part-time, and the main tasks include snow removal from the grounds and accommodations, building maintenance, and supporting the housekeeping team.

This year-round position requires residing on the Éco-Odyssée Nature Park grounds (accommodation provided) and being available on call.

Duties - Summer

  • Perform general maintenance of the Éco-Odyssée Nature Park using various tools and machinery.
  • Maintain and repair equipment, watercraft, vehicles, machinery, and buildings.
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work on roads, parking lots, and hiking trails.
  • Ensure the general cleanliness of the site and accommodations (garbage, recycling, and compost) and the restrooms
  • Assist with the Park's operational logistics and equipment storage
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the company (customer service, visitor reception, housekeeping)
  • Provide the public with basic information about the organization's activities or direct them to the appropriate people
  • Ensure user safety and respond in emergencies

Duties - Year-round

  • Ensure the cleanliness, snow removal, and proper operation of the accommodations
  • Maintain the spa daily
  • Support the housekeeping team (equipment repair, water and firewood delivery, housekeeping assistance)
  • Respond to occasional requests from visitors of the accommodations
  • Participate in meetings with team colleagues
  • Lend assistance to other team members, as needed, with any other activities
  • Perform minor chores
  • Any other tasks related to the proper functioning of the site
Qualifications
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to analyze priorities
  • Good team and solo work skills
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Have 1 year of experience performing outdoor manual labor
  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors for long hours
  • Day, evening, and weekend shifts. On-call availability
