Size: It measures approximately 48 to 66 cm.
Longevity: The lifespan of the ancient duck is about 22 years
Habitat: It lives in lakes, marshes, ponds, bays and coastal waters.
Food: The canvasback feeds on insects, molluscs, or marine invertebrates protected by shells such as snails, and various fish. It feeds mainly during the day, but sometimes also at night.
Did you know that the canvasback is one of the rarest ducks in Quebec? It is mainly found in Western Canada.
