American Bullfrog

Family: Ranidae

Size: It measures approximately 12 to 20 cm.

Longevity: It can live 8 to 9 years in the wild and up to 16 years in captivity.

Habitat: It lives in lakes, bays, ponds and marshes.

Food: It mainly eats invertebrates, including insects, spiders, snails and crayfish. It also devours any vertebrate it can capture and swallow.

Did you know that the American bullfrog is very greedy? It eats other frogs, including other American bullfrogs, and sometimes attacks ducklings even tough it can’t swallow them.
