New day <\/strong>camp, new chapter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I’m taking two minutes to introduce myself. My name is Am\u00e9lie Rocheleau, and I’m co-owner of Parc Nature \u00c9co-Odyss\u00e9e, a family-run ecotourism business located in Wakefield, in the Outaouais region. I’ve decided to write to you each month in a more personal way. The goal? To give you a behind-the-scenes look at the business, to share projects, trials, new developments\u2014in short, everything that’s shaping our beautiful natural site.<\/p>\n

NEW NATURE DAY CAMP<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I’m starting with a brand new project for summer 2026: a day camp!<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Why?<\/div>\n
For over five years, we’ve been welcoming school groups and day camps, and honestly, we love introducing young people to the area. Every year, we develop new activities tailored to them, and the good news is, the groups come back year after year. Through these experiences, we share our expertise on beaver habitat and the marsh, as well as our passion for nature and its conservation. We also work with a competent, motivated, and experienced staff in a safe environment that we know like the back of our hand.<\/div>\n

First year, small-scale: we’re offering three weeks of camp, from June 29 to July 17<\/strong><\/a>, to offer the best of what we do, right here on our territory.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
On the agenda: canoeing and kayaking lessons, compass navigation, building forest shelters, identifying marsh plants and animals, hiking, outdoor crafts workshops, friendly competitions\u2026 and above all, lots of fun.<\/div>\n

WE’RE GETTING STARTED IN FARMING<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You’ve probably seen our recent posts<\/a> about the agriculture workshops, led by Robert Cordy. Robert is passionate about regenerative agriculture and permaculture, and he’s also an incredible artist. He’s brimming with creative ideas to implement on our farmland. This fantastic guy has an impressive knowledge of living things and is building strong relationships with the community to develop the land together with the local people. We’ve created a video (directed by Robert himself) to explain this new agricultural chapter.<\/div>\n

Agriculture fits naturally into our commitment to preserving and developing the land sustainably, while raising awareness about its protection. The workshops allow participants to learn what they can do at home in terms of gardening and farming.<\/div>\n
